To Install the VMware Horizon Client for Windows:

  • Go to vdesktops.atu.edu.
  • Click Install VMware Horizon Client. This will take you to the Download VMware Horizon Clients site.


  • Click the Go to Downloads link.



  • Click Download Now.



  • Once downloaded, the downloaded file should be in your Downloads folder. Run the VMware-Horizon-Client file.
  • When you run the VMware-Horizon-Client file, Click on the "Agree & Install" box.  This will start the installation process and during this process, the client will update along with installing the Client app.
  • When the installation is complete, Click Finish.
  • The system will want to restart your computer.  You can click 'Restart Later".
  • Go to your desktop and you will locate the VMware Horizon Client. Click on the VMware Horizon Client to open it.
  • Next you will be asked to add a server. Click on Add server
  • In the "Name of the Connection Server" you will enter vdesktops.atu.edu and then click Connect.
  • You will then be asked to enter your ATU username and password, then click Login.
  • DuoMFA will ask you to put a 1 in the box for a Duo Push or a 2 in that box.  Once you made that choice hit enter.
  • This should complete the installation process.  You will then see the avaiable Pools that are offered to ATU students in the virtual environment.  Depending on permissions you might only have Remote Student Pool.
  • Under the Remote Student Pool - You will find a lot of avaiable applications like Office, Adobe, SPSS and Etc.
