You may from time-to-time have a student who may get 'timed out' of an exam. What this means is Blackboard 'thinks' the student is no longer interacting with the system, and will close down the connection stream.
This can happen in the middle of an exam for a student. Follow these steps to fix this problem:
- Go into the 'Grade Center'.
- Search for the students exam attempt, it will normally be shown as a 'lock'.
- Click on the down arrow next to the lock and on the right hand side, click 'view grade details', and once inside here, there will be the option to 'ignore attempt.' This will enable the student to access the exam and start over.
The Campus Support Center has permission from a few instructors to reset their students' exams. If we do not have permission from the instructor in question, the student will be referred to the instructor.
