If you get this error message while attempting to stop a recording on a Mac there are a few settings that first need to be changed. This is going to be an issue with MacOS Catalina or newer. The fix is: System Preferences - Privacy & Security - make sure that every category has Kaltura checked that it showed in - and restart the program.


  • Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab
  • Unlock the panel (bottom left lock icon, login  
  • On the left side click on Camera
  • On the right side, make sure there is a check next to the Kaltura Capture software. 
  • Repeat the above step for Microphone and Screen Recording
  • Re-lock the panel and Restart Kaltura
