Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can we just keep SSB8?
- Unfortunately, our vendor, Ellucian, no longer supports SSB8 and will be permanently inactivating it beginning January 2, 2026.
-
Why are some links missing and moved?
- Ellucian has designed the SSB9 system differently from the SSB8 system. In SSB9, the applications are divided into different modules, for example, Student, Registration, and Employee.
-
The Self-Service Banner 9 menu that connects these modules has been designed by OIS to give some familiarity to the old SSB8.
- There are many pages for which Ellucian has not designed a direct replacement.
-
What are the Dashboards?
- The dashboards are the baseline SSB9 pages delivered by Ellucian. They are available on the SSB9 menu that OIS has provided as a transition from SSB8.
- The Dashboards are available on Experience for quick access.
- Dashboards take you to Ellucian-delivered landing pages. These pages vary by the different modules, but they provide links to the different pages within the modules.
-
How do I use the new SSB9 menu delivered by OIS?
- The menu is laid out close to the way the SSB8 menu was. We have removed links that were directly tied to SSB8 pages.
- On the SSB9 menu, you will find links to pages that have been developed and delivered by OIS as well as links to the SSB9 dashboards delivered by Ellucian.
