Single Number Reach is a feature that allows incoming calls to your desk phone extension to also ring on a remote phone, such as a cell phone.  Once configured, the incoming call will ring on your desk phone, and then after a configurable delay, will begin ringing on the remote phone as well.  You can pick up the call on either device and, if you do not pick up the call, they will be sent to your ATU voicemail.  This feature is different than standard Call Forwarding in the following ways:

  • The call still continues to ring on your desk phone allowing you to pick it up on either device.  Standard call forwarding immediately sends the call to the number you're forwarding to and only rings on that device.

  • If unanswered, the call goes to your ATU voicemail.  With standard call forwarding, the call would go to the voicemail associated with the number you forwarded to.  Please note: This does not apply to "declined" calls... if you decline a call on your mobile device, it may send the call to your cell's voicemail.

  • Single Number Reach can be scheduled to work all of the time or only between certain hours on certain days.  Standard call forwarding cannot be scheduled and is always on until it is manually deactivated.

Single Number Reach is a very handy feature if you're away from your office phone a lot and still need to be able to take incoming calls.

How to configure Single Number Reach depends on whether or not you also use Webex Teams to make and receive calls on the remote phone you plan on using with Single Number Reach (like a cell phone).

Setting up Single Number Reach:

1

Sign in to the user hub at ATU.webex.com

2

Go to Settings > Calling > Call settings.

3

Go to the Single number reach section and turn on the toggle.

4

Select Name and Personal phone number to add a name and phone number to be used as your single number reach number.

Once you add a phone number, the number gets activated. To deactivate, uncheck the box next to the phone number.

5

Select any of the following Incoming calling options:

  • Do not forward calls—Your calls aren't forwarded, even if you've call forwarding enabled.

  • Answer confirmation—When someone calls you, they're prompted to press a key before being connected. Use this option if you want your callers to know that their call is automatically going to your single number reach (office anywhere) number.
